Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH)<\/h5>

From 31 May 2008, European REACH (Regulation EC No. 1907\/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the registration, evaluation, authorization and restriction of chemical substances) applies to all chemical substances produced or imported into the European Union. This means that only substances registered by the manufacturer or importer under the REACH regulation are authorized in cosmetic products intended for sale on the European market. Furthermore, as an importer of a finished product, you are also considered an importer of all ingredients\/substances contained therein and may have to register them. This REACH obligation applies to almost all types of products, including cosmetics, detergents, biocides, room fragrances, etc. .... (Medicines and products intended for human or animal consumption are excluded).<\/p>

Since the fundamental principle of the REACH regulation is \"no data, no market\", it can have a significant impact on companies, including cosmetic brands, in that products whose REACH traceability has not been approved may be refused marketing.
