To be able to market food supplements in Portugal that have been notified in another Member State of the European Union (EU), the responsible for placing them on the market, under Regulation (EU) 2019/515 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 March 2019 can start the Mutual Recognition Procedure, presenting the necessary requirements and documents. This procedure is free of charge and is submitted to the Portuguese Competent Authority – DGAV.

Any economic operator who wishes to legally sell their food supplements, which have been previously notified in a country belonging to the European Union (EU), may sell them in another country through this procedure.
